Job Opening: SafeArt Seeks Healing Facilitator

The Healing Arts Intensive Care Unit (HAICU) is a weekly, closed healing arts group made up of 4-6 women, who are healing from trauma, and/or struggle with anxiety, depression, chronic stress, among other symptoms. This group is intended for women who need weekly support and utilizes the healing arts (including movement, visual art, creative writing, theater) to support the women in their healing journey.

The facilitator will be designing and co-leading group activities and will be encouraged to bring his/her own arts/healing experiences to the group. The facilitator will also provide individual sessions to the HAICU participants in whatever area of expertise they have, i.e. visual art, movement, energy healing.

SafeArt values the importance of community in the work of healing. This program promotes companionship through shared lunches, working together in the SafeArt garden, walks, and field trips. All facilitators are considered part of the SafeArt community.

Facilitator weekly time commitment:

-Wednesdays group session from 9am-2pm approximately, includes monthly staff meetings

-individual sessions, as scheduled with participants

-communication with HAICU participants or other staff as needed

This job requires experience in the healing arts and preferred experience in group facilitation. Assumed applicants will be trauma-informed and trauma-sensitive. Training in SafeArt Methods will be provided.

Payment: $25 an hour for meeting and group time. $50/hour for individual sessions, which might last one hour or 1.5 hours.
