SafeArt Institute for Trauma-Informed Education

-SITE-

SITE will offer six public courses.  All of the courses will be accredited through the extended studies department at Adams State University, for undergraduate and graduate credit.  Each course will be worth 3 credits. The courses will also qualify for continuing education units (CEU) for professionals.

Sign up for the SITE certificate program, which entails taking two core courses and two electives, in order to tailor the education to the students specific professional needs or fields of study.  As part of the “SafeArt Trauma-Informed Certificate”, students will need to complete an apprenticeship, either with SafeArt practitioners or in another location of their choosing, upon approval.

Each course will focus on one interconnected theme in the SafeArt model of trauma-informed education and community work. Imagination, Intuition, Intention will thread their way through each course. They are the foundation principles upon which SafeArt is built. A fourth principle, Implementation, will be addressed through the apprenticeship and/or mentorships.

Core SITE Faculty:

Tracy Penfield, Founding Director, SafeArt | Yasmeen Hossain, PhD, Interim Executive Director, SafeArt
