Book the SafeArt Teen Ensemble!

The Teen Ensemble
provides an opportunity for teenagers to work together towards performances that are toured to schools, conferences and other venues.

Teenagers in this program learn how to express themselves through acting, music, dance and poetry. They have a unique and confidence building opportunity to choose content that boldly addresses challenging but pervasive issues – bullying, dating and sexual violence, familynconflict, substance abuse, self-harm and more.

The results of this hard work are original performances followed by guided discussion that enrich communities. Humor and hope provide balance for the difficult aspect of these forums. We shed light on dark topics with the belief that normalizing the conversation will build a culture of proactive youth and adults working to solve these problems.

The Ensemble will perform for any age or audience. The format is usually a 50-minute show followed by a discussion between the ensemble and audience members. These post-show interactions are often insightful and illuminating conversations.

Through this program the audience becomes aware of sensitive subjects that permeate teenage life and the lives of their families. The Teen Ensemble empowers people to have open dialogue and be more active agents of social change.

Price: $750 for each performance.

An extra $150 brings a SafeArt workshop along with the performance.

Many schools choose to have performances be followed by a SafeArt Residency.

What They’re Saying About the Teen Ensemble:

"I think that the SafeArt Ensemble performance perfectly displays humanitiy's need for human interaction, and the opportunity to share our feelings with those that can understand us. The performers obviously believe that speaking out is key in the recovery process of a human mind."
- GS, high school sophomore

Scarves

"We can end up burdening someone's life so much without realizing it. The most incredible (SafeArt Ensemble) skit was the one in which the young girl was tied up with colorful scarves and loaded down with other people's selfish words. Each time a new insult was added, so was a scarf. This continued until she was so weighed down by the tangible words that she couldn't move. It takes the caring of one person to feel compassion and save the life of the hurting person. The skit ends with just that happening; someone caring, someone reaching out, someone untying the scarves and unloading the burdens of this world..."
- SL, high school student

"Anyone looking for a performance that really speaks to teens about teen issues need look no further than the SafeArt Teen Ensemble."

- Susan Clarke, Woodsville, NH High School Guidance Counselor
